A Bournemouth-based Technical Director had been working with several recruitment agencies as well as paying for his own job advertising to source a skilled PHP Web Developer. He was disappointed by the lack of quality candidates being submitted and applying and was becoming frustrated due to falling further behind on important projects and deadlines.
The Bond Williams approach
Our specialist IT & Software Solutions recruitment team discussed the requirements and specific skills needed by the client to enable his projects to get back on track. It became apparent that the candidates being submitted were not of the relevant skill level and had very little PHP skills. Through just a little investigation and common sense, our industry knowledge enabled us to uncover that experience with Laravel was something to focus on when screening CVs and pre-screening candidates. Via CV searches and proactive headhunting, a shortlist of three candidates were sent to the client, two of which had both Laravel and PHP skills.
All three candidates were interviewed and tested on their skills, which resulted in a subsequent offer acceptance. The successful candidate was even able to negotiate a shorter notice period so he could start at an earlier date, which further enabled the client to progress with his projects even quicker. The client was thankful for the efficiency and quality of the candidates. The process took just two weeks from the initial brief to candidate offer.
