Division: IT & Software Solutions

Role/Assignment: PHP Web Developer

The Challenge

A Technical Director in Bournemouth had been using several recruitment agencies and had also invested in job advertising to recruit a PHP Web Developer.

Despite these efforts, the candidates being presented did not have the required level of technical capability.

The vacancy was beginning to affect project delivery and deadlines, creating increasing urgency for the business.

Our Approach

Our specialist IT recruitment team held detailed discussions with the Technical Director to establish which technical skills were genuinely essential.

It became clear that the missing element in many of the previous candidates was not simply PHP expertise but specifically Laravel experience.

We therefore focused our search and screening around these requirements.

Through targeted database searching and proactive headhunting, we produced a shortlist of three candidates, two of whom had both PHP and Laravel experience.

The Outcome

All three candidates were interviewed and completed skills testing.

One candidate was offered and accepted the position.

The successful candidate also negotiated a shorter notice period, allowing them to join the client sooner.

The entire process from the initial brief to offer took two weeks.
