Division: Office & Commercial
Role/Assignment: Customer Service Manager, Temp-to-Perm, Manufacturing
The Challenge
Following the departure of an employee who left the business to go travelling, the client restructured its customer service team and planned to make two appointments.
The first priority was a Customer Service Manager, with a Customer Service Advisor appointment expected to follow later in the year.
The Manager needed a specific combination of experience, including a manufacturing background and strong customer service expertise.
The requirement was relatively urgent, and the client wanted someone who could provide the right level of experience while fitting into the newly restructured team.
Our Approach
Because our Office & Commercial team was already speaking with relevant candidates in the market, we were able to act immediately.
We identified two candidates who were already registered with Bond Williams and submitted both to the client within 24 hours.
During a meeting with the client four days later, interviews were arranged for both candidates, followed by trial days.
We also discussed the importance of moving quickly when suitable candidates were identified, particularly as both were actively considering other opportunities.
The client agreed to work with Bond Williams on a sole-agency basis, allowing us to manage the recruitment process closely and maintain momentum with the candidates.
The Outcome
One of the two candidates was selected for the Customer Service Manager position on a temp-to-perm basis.
The requirement was received on 1 July, with the successful candidate offered the position on 14 July and starting on 27 July.
From receiving the vacancy to securing the successful candidate, the recruitment process took two weeks.
The client successfully filled the first position within its restructured customer service team, with the Customer Service Advisor appointment planned as the next stage of recruitment.
