Role.Assignment: Multi-role Biotech Scale-Up Recruitment Project
The Challenge
Following a successful funding round, a growing biotech business needed to double its workforce within a matter of months.
The organisation required employees across several very different specialist functions, while also needing to maintain momentum within the business.
The roles included:
- Executive Assistant supporting the C-Suite and recruitment/onboarding
- Application Scientist, Molecular Biology
- Application Development Scientist, Biochemistry
- Director of Quality Assurance, ISO 13485
- Mechanical Engineer, Instrumentation
- Data Engineer, AWS / SQL / C++
- Data Scientist, Applied Machine Learning
The business did not have sufficient internal resources to manage the scale and complexity of recruitment required.
Our Approach
Bond Williams worked directly with the heads of the relevant business areas to understand the different technical and cultural requirements.
Separate targeted campaigns were run for each specialist position.
We used our existing life sciences, engineering and technology networks to identify candidates and carried out detailed screening before presentation.
Alongside candidate recruitment, we also supported the client with broader recruitment infrastructure, including assistance with sourcing and implementing an applicant tracking system.
We also provided guidance around visa sponsorship where international candidates were being considered.
The Outcome
Bond Williams successfully placed the required candidates across the range of scientific, engineering, technology and support functions within the agreed recruitment timescales.
The project developed into an ongoing recruitment relationship with the biotech business.
