Role/Assignment: Systems Engineer, Harwell Campus
The Challenge
A client based at Harwell Campus needed to recruit a Systems Engineer to replace a member of the team who had left.
The role required a particularly strong combination of technical expertise, including electronics and instrumentation experience alongside experience of working within a multidisciplinary systems engineering environment.
The successful candidate needed to understand the wider architecture of the product and how the electronic, mechanical and software elements worked together as part of the complete system.
The client had already been working with a non-specialist recruitment agency for several weeks, but they had been unable to provide candidates of the calibre required.
Our Approach
Our Engineering, Science & Space team met with the hiring team to understand the technical requirements in greater depth and gain additional insight into the role and working environment.
We combined this information with our experience of recruiting similar systems engineering positions and our knowledge of the local specialist candidate market.
A targeted search campaign identified candidates with the relevant technical and multidisciplinary systems experience.
Within a matter of days, we submitted three suitable candidates, positioned at different points within the client’s agreed salary range.
The Outcome
The client was pleased with the quality of the shortlist and identified one candidate whose experience was particularly relevant to the requirement.
The candidate was also immediately available.
We supported both parties throughout the interview process and subsequent discussions, resulting in an offer and successful acceptance.
