The Legal & HR group from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) recently held a round table in order to analyse the relationship between agencies and HR Professionals.
The day was organised with the goal of establishing what exactly makes a good relationship and how existing relationships can be strengthened, in order to achieve the best results possible for both parties. To ensure that views from ‘both sides of the fence’ would be heard, attendees included not only REC member firms, but also their clients.
With companies tightening their belts, it’s more important than ever that HR Professionals hire the right person first time round. Hiring the wrong person can be a costly (upwards of £1000) and time consuming enterprise which is why it is essential that both a solid relationship and clear understanding of recruitment needs, exists between an HR Professional and their agency. Martin Snell, chair of REC Legal and HR explained this further saying that,
“In the current climate, identifying talent and individuals with the right skills and experience presents employers with real challenges. A productive partnership with a recruitment agency is therefore not just beneficial but is a business imperative.”
The REC will analysing the results from the day and producing a short guide containing their findings.
