An exciting temporary to contract opportunity has arisen for someone looking to progress their housing career to the next level as a Neighbourhood Officer. Based from the clients Winchester office, you will deliver a high-quality housing management service to residents in the Winchester and Chichester areas.

Responsibilities of the Neighbourhood Officer include:

  • To carry out and monitor regular estate inspections, tenancy audits and ensure accurate records are maintained and actions are taken to deal with issues.
  • To manage tenancies related to housing services residents in accordance with policies, procedures and targets.
  • Be the point of contact to resolve and investigate complaints by residents and provide advice and guidance.
  • Ensure that IT systems are regularly updated, and effective manual record systems are maintained.
  • To build relationships and work with both internal and external stakeholders
  • To attend and represent the company at court, external meetings, case conferences, forums and evictions
  • Ensure that the tenancy management objectives and key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Responsible for resolving customer queries promptly, including liaison with the Operational Teams, residents, local authorities and 3rd party providers as required.
  • Work with diverse tenants who require extra support and refer them to appropriate support services.

The successful Neighbourhood Officer will have:

  • Knowledge of housing law and housing management issues, welfare benefits and financial inclusion.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people and community groups
  • Strong working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience of problem solving for customers and understanding customer needs
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths & English (level A*-C)
  • A willingness to undertake professional development
  • Preferably a professional (CIH) qualification
