HR Administrator – Southampton – £12.50 per hour


Temporary, experienced HR Administrator required to support the Human Resources team for the Southampton office of an international logistics company. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their existing experience within a HR role.
Duties of the HR Administrator will include:

  • Support the project of a paperless office, by scanning and uploading all documents into the system drive using appropriate filing system.
  • Maintain and update employment records both electronic files and HR database.
  • Support the team by being first point of contact for telephone queries.
  • Support HR in maintaining the data management of the attendance management system. Ensure that the system is up to date and accurate, run regular reports.
  • Support the HR Business Partners in arranging meetings in relation to attendance management/sickness absence, including subsequent letter administration and diary management. Work with managers to ensure meetings take place.
  • Support with recruitment by processing speculative applications and those received in response to advertised vacancies including acknowledging receipt of applications and recording on HR system, assist in arranging assessment days, interviews as required.
  • Support the Assistant HR Business Partner with new starter process incl. inductions, enrolling on to e-learning courses etc.
  • Assist as required with general mass mail correspondence using mail merge function. In the absence of the HR & Payroll Support, deal with incoming and outgoing post.
  • Provide administrative assistance to Occupational Health Nurse Advisor including fortnightly doctor appointment letters.
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks to support projects and initiatives as required.

The successful HR Administrator will:

  • Have previous HR Administration experience gained within a busy office environment
  • Be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint and must have used HR systems is essential.
  • Have excellent communication skills; with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Be a strong team player who is enthusiastic and has a flexible approach to changing working environments
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English. CPP would be advantageous.
  • Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet strict deadlines.

This is a long term assignment with the potential for a permanent role for the right person, there is free parking on-site
