Commercial Manager – Salary of £50,000 plus shares – Southampton
Our client, a growing and forward thinking company are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager to join their elite team. This is a unique opportunity to join a company who are making changes across the world. You will be an integral part of the team, managing existing and new commercial relationships. You will be responsible for the pricing, development, implementation and on-going management of all commercial operations.
Duties:

  • Influencing new business methods, processes and measures to optimise the company and customer positions
  • Custodian of Group business processes
  • Acting as primary customer interface for proposals and contractual matters
  • Pricing
  • Providing guidance to the business on commercial issues and internal governance
  • Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, and devising appropriate mitigations
  • Leading and supporting the preparation of proposals, contract changes and claims
  • Leading final stages of contracts
  • Co-ordinating the implementation of actions on commercial / contract issues
  • Proactively engaging other functions to enhance the commercial solution
  • Working with procurement on supply chain solutions and contractual arrangements
  • Maintaining customer knowledge and applying market intelligence to opportunities
  • Management of distributor relationships
  • Controlling and issuing the customer and distributor price lists
  • Adhoc tasks

Experience Required:

  • Strong ability to operate as part of a team
  • The ability to translate a big picture into a detailed operational project plan capable of making the opportunity a reality
  • Knowledge of legal issues, profitability requirements, contract structure, terms and conditions, sub-contract considerations, funding and payment plans
  • Ability to formulate the full range of agreements with customers and partners (including universities), including: teaming agreements, confidentiality agreements, licences of intellectual property to/from third parties; and responsible for drafting contracts / agreements
  • Astute analytical ability to identify commercial risks and opportunities, and ability to devise a flexible range of mitigations
  • Maturity and gravitas to work with senior levels of customers and internal stakeholders
  • Experience of delivering the commercial aspects to meet Group sales targets
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate and persuade
  • Demonstrable experience in customer negotiations and development of customer relationships
