Technical Customer Service / Sales Co-ordinator – Poole – £21,600

A Technical Customer Service / Sales Co-ordinator is required for our client, a well-established engineering company based in Poole. As the Technical Customer Service / Sales Co-ordinator, you will join a small team and be required to provide excellent customer service and have the ability to identify opportunities for upselling additional products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the internal sales engineers and liaise with external sales when needed
  • Deal with incoming calls and emails and actioning when required
  • Provide quotes via email to suit customer requirements
  • Ensure customer orders are captured through the system accurately and efficiently
  • Ensure credit checks are undertaken on new customers and contracts are compliant with legislation
  • Develop good rapport and business relationships with customers
  • Manage existing accounts and maintain the relationship, keeping in touch and contact on a regular basis, identifying any new possible upselling opportunities
  • Follow up on quotes that have been sent out but not yet converted to sales
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate where necessary
  • Be proactive in promoting the business and resolving customer queries as efficiently as possible
  • Attend meetings as and when required to keep up to speed with customer orders and communicate information as needed.
  • Liaise with Despatch, Assembly and Production in order to action progress and delivery
  • Scan and archive documents and provide administrative support to other areas of the business as required

Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Previously worked in a technical, mechanical, engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in Customer Service
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines to meet requirements of customers
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • IT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft products – PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook

This is a permanent role and the working hours are 8am-4:30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am – 1pm on Fridays, equating to 37 hours per week. Hybrid working option available once training is complete.
