Senior Risk Analyst – Wimborne – £Competitive

A Senior Risk Analyst is required for our client based in Wimborne to join their busy team. The main aspect of the role is to provide analysis and analytical solutions to balance business growth, with risk management and controls. Responsible for supporting the maintenance, development and enhancement of the regular reporting and identifying risk.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, develop and provide regular, appropriate and timely portfolio monitoring MI and analysis to inform the business, identify variances and trends. Support and develop origination and portfolio management strategies to maximise opportunities within risk appetite.
  • Use data, quantitative analysis and knowledge of the portfolio to influence and drive positive change and effective strategic decisions.
  • Monitor, evaluate and assess all aspects of risk strategy.
  • Support the Risk Managers through the preparation of product / strategy papers and proposals for submission to relevant committees.
  • Monitor developments across the credit industry and make use of external market data available to benchmark performance and inform analysis and/or recommendations where appropriate.
  • Perform research using internal data systems and industry leading external resources.
  • Respond to ad hoc risk issues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborate with cross functional internal and external partners to implement projects that will improve the health of the business.
  • Conduct simple to complex analysis to assess the impact of internal and external changes
  • Contribute to communicating the retail risk policies and Risk appetite.
  • Ensure that the portfolio strategies and processes are compliant with the appropriate regulations and regulator guidance.

  • Understanding of risk management concepts
  • Proven Business Analysis experience
  • Experience of risk analysis methodologies
  • Experience of the mortgage markets
  • Adaptable and flexible, able to respond quickly to changing priorities
  • A willingness to learn and explore new opportunities is essential
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal, with an ability to convey complex information to a broad audience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
  • An ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Investigating business problems and opportunities using root cause analysis.
  • Negotiating business requirements with stakeholders
