Procurement Manager – Bournemouth – Salary up to £44,000 DOE

A Procurement Manager is required by our client based in Bournemouth within the Education sector. The role will be based within the Finance & Procurement team. The main aspect of the role is to provide contributions to developing the procurement and strategy policy, review cost savings, devise, negotiate and award contracts and oversee the management of the purchase order team.

The working hours are Monday – Thursday are 8:30am – 5.00pm and Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm – this is a hybrid working role.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership on matters relating to contracts, commercial is and procurement.
  • Advise budget holders on the most appropriate procurement routes.
  • Create detail analysis and manipulation of data, highlighting cost reductions or improved efficiencies.
  • Provide detailed information and advice to senior colleagues and staff for product and tender specifications.
  • Development review measures of customer satisfactions, ensuring procurement/purchasing service is delivered.
  • Develop annual work plans in support of the procurement strategy.
  • Develop and adapt procurement processes to ensure they are fit for purpose.
  • Implement new procurement tools to increase efficiency
  • Retain an overview of the Procurement Policy and Strategy, conscious of the internal and external environment.
  • Contribute to longer-term planning within the directorate and section as required; plan and allocate work accordingly.

Key Skills:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent qualification/experience is required for this role
  • Subject related qualification or professional memberships is essential.
  • Awareness of key challenges within the Education Sector or similar.
  • Ability to develop and promote the procurement processes.
  • Experience in managing staff
  • Working experience as a category manager and leading on procurement is essential.
