Marketing Specialist – Southampton – Salary up to £34,000

Category Marketing Specialist is required for our Southampton based client, to join their busy marketing communications team on a 15-month fixed term contract. The main aspect of the role is to support the Senior Category Marketing Manager in driving marketing launches and promotional activities by collating and distributing, along with owning campaigns and monitoring all creative assets.

Main responsibilities:

  • Produce ideas and design briefs.
  • Liaise with EMEA, Legal, and 3rd parties where required to ensure all material is delivered on time and is compliant.
  • Ensure that all assets & communications adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Work effectively with Senior Marketing Team, ensuring internal teams are briefed on product launches and category campaigns.
  • Support the Senior Category Marketing Manager where required on paid media activity.
  • Provide support to the Senior Marketing Team & Senior Management Team by creating high quality presentations for meetings.
  • Organise the storage and back up of creative work and campaign materials, including delivery.
  • Be responsible for local product launch.
  • Manage effective prioritisation of creative projects to align with category and business objectives.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects where necessary.
  • Assist the Senior Category Marketing Manager on briefs for 3rd parties.
  • Support on paid media, PR agency briefs, calls, project updates, reporting.
  • Support the Senior Category Marketing Manager on daily duties where required, including day-to-day admin tasks.

Key Skills:

  • Recognisable qualification in Marketing (Degree 2.2 or above) or 2 years’ experience in marketing.
  • Excellent understanding of key outdoor categories.
  • Understanding of advertising principals and media landscape
  • Must be driven, motivated and exhibit passion and enthusiasm for the role and category
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills.
  • Good verbal, written and presentation communications
  • Effective time management and project management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail.
