A Infrastructure Manager is required for a well established IT Solutions business based in Dorset.
As Infrastructure Manager you will be leading a team of 6 engineers, managing customer projects, schedule project timescales, chargeable resource, whilst escalating technical solutions ‘hands on’.
Duties and responsibilities;
* Handle escalations from the project engineering team, assigning escalations to appropriate owners.
* Day to day management of all members of the projects engineering team, including appraisals and personal development plans.
* Ensure project plans produced by the team follow the appropriate technical approval process, prior to work being scheduled.
* Works closely with the Head of Infrastructure on scheduling of projects
* Provides updates to Head of Infrastructure on work scheduled to ensure monthly department forecasting is accurate.
* Project update communications on large projects and potentially attend project management meetings via teams and in person as required.
* Liaise with the Head of Infrastructure and Support Manager to resolve complex support issues and manage post project issues.
* Recommend appropriate engineering resource for each project.
Knowledge and skills required;
Technical experience and understanding of the following Technologies:
* Microsoft Azure.
* Microsoft 365 (All core components including setting up the security features)
* Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory and Windows 10.
* VMware vSphere
* Enterprise backup technologies (Veeam or similar)
* Endpoint and Perimeter security technologies (e.g EPP, EDR and UTM/Next Gen Firewalls)
* Experience of working with wireless technologies and understanding of the key principles required to deploy and configure.
* Understanding of key security principles and how these relate to the setup of infrastructure/software used within a project.
* Networking configurations and technologies i.e., vlan configuration, layer-3 networking setup.
Full driving licence with access to a vehicle for travel is essential.
