System Support Technician – Basingstoke/Chertsey – £20,000 – £26,000

A System Support Technician is required on a 3-4 month FTC for our client based in Basingstoke or Chertsey to assist with increased workload. The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role and ideally have knowledge of HR processes.


  • Provide daily support for end users of the portal
  • Identify and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner within agreed SLA
  • Flag and escalate when system issues are identified and need external support for resolution
  • Work with system analysts, assess and implement requests for system changes
  • Train all new superusers to ensure the system is being used correctly and to full capacity
  • Actively seek feedback from users to ensure future enhancements and developments are effectively delivered
  • Ensure scheduled system tasks are run on time
  • Flag requests for system redesign and enhancements to senior team members
  • Work with the wider team to support implementation of the system to new users
  • Undertake system audits to flag misuse or underuse
  • Attend team meetings to provide updates on progress and details of future tasks
  • Attend calls, webinars and conferences if required to keep knowledge of the solution up to date
  • Develop your own network of Subject Matter Experts at other organisations

Key skills and experience:

  • Practical knowledge of configuring IT systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and multi-task
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within the confines of processes agreed
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ideally have good knowledge of HR processes
  • Experience of the Cornerstone system is advantageous

This role is to start as soon as possible to you will need to be able to start immediately and available for at least 3 to 4 months.
