Financial Controller – Southampton – up to £50,000

A Financial Controller is required for a growing company who are based in Southampton but offer hybrid working with a day in the office. You must be CIMA or ACCA qualified with at least 2/3 years experience. The Financial Controller role reports into the Head of Operations and Finance and is a key role between the small Accounts team and supporting the board with insightful and commercial analysis. You must be hands on and happy to undertake some of the transactional tasks on occasion to support the team.

Key duties

  • Budgeting, Forecasting and Variance Analysis
  • Responsible for the P&L and board pack with commentary
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and working with auditors
  • VAT/Tax Submissions as well as Annual Returns
  • Cashflow analysis
  • Invoicing and Credit Control
  • Project work as required
  • Supervising two Bookkeepers
  • Occasional overseas travel

Qualifications and experience

  • You will be ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 2/3 years’ experience
  • Microsoft NAV / Business Central experience, incl. Jet Reports would be useful
  • Group consolidated accounting
  • Commercial analysis but also having an eye for the detail
  • Team player

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary – £45,000 – £50,000
  • Office hours – Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
  • Home based with one day in the office a week
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Pension and Medical
