Events & Alumni Executive – New Forest – Salary up to £31,437

An Events & Alumni Executive is required for our client based in the New Forest area. As the Events & Alumni Executive, you will report to the Head of Marketing & Communications and be responsible for devising and delivering a range of marketing, promotional and public relations activities in line with the Marketing Strategy.


  • Develop innovative and contemporary approaches to marketing and promotions
  • Provide proactive support for all activities, initiative and goals
  • Develop and manage high-profile events such as Open Events, Freshers Day, open mornings and tours
  • Manage and co-ordinate to Student Ambassador scheme which include organising bookings and delivering training where appropriate
  • Produce new and exciting ideas for events to complement and support the overall programme, tailoring each occasion to focussed audiences to achieve objectives
  • Provide event training to colleagues, helping them to enhance customer service abilities
  • Develop an effective outreach programme and work with colleagues to generate ideas for interesting activities
  • Develop the Alumni strategy to maximise potential donations
  • Co-ordinate approaches to major donors and potential supports, including maintaining regular contact with existing supporters
  • Evaluate events activities to achieve understanding about the effectiveness of each activity
  • Capture customer feedback to ensure activities are appropriate and effective
  • Undertake competitor research and analysis
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all events income and expenditure
  • Support staff and colleagues by devising and co-ordinating appropriate marketing and events campaigns

Key Skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of working within a similar role
  • Experience of implementing marketing strategy for a medium or large organisation
  • Experience in fundraising and alumni development and generating business and customer commitment
  • A proven track record of successfully planning and delivery of large and sometime complex events
  • An understanding of the context and issues facing the FE / HE sectors
  • Operational innovation within a marketing environment
  • Ability to analyse data accurately and effectively in order to convert it into practical business plans
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Personable, well-organised, confident and enthusiastic
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends

This is a full time role, working 37 hours per week.
