Customer Support Officer – Poole – Salary of £20,000

Our client based in Poole are looking for a Customer Support Officer to join their Volunteer Experience team on a temporary basis for up to 10 months. The main aspect of the role is to support the volunteers within the retail, fundraising and heritage groups to nurture relationships, and increase all levels of engagement.

Main responsibilities:

  • Receive and make calls using excellent customer service in order to build relationships
  • Meet engagement and stewardship targets to agreed deadlines and deliver against performance indicators
  • Support volunteers with the creation of fundraising support materials on systems
  • Support volunteers with the provision of shared fundraising materials
  • Maintain working knowledge of process and systems in the Supporter Experience Team related to responding to basic enquiries, taking telephone payments of all kinds, and setting up and cancelling membership and direct debit payments in order to assist with Supporter Experience delivery at peak times
  • Maintain a working knowledge on the processes related to event administration so that you can assist with event administration fulfilment at peak times
  • Manage financial processes on behalf of the volunteers, to include raising purchase orders, arranging for supplier payments, and preparing volunteer expenses in readiness for payment
  • Handle administration duties and prepare own correspondence in response to telephone, email and postal enquiries
  • Provide administrative support to volunteers and fundraising groups
  • Process annual stocktake returns from Retail volunteers
  • Handle, resolve and report on all levels of complaint
  • Develop positive and open relationships with other teams to facilitate the effective processing of information and income
  • To become involved in other ad hoc tasks as required.

To be considered for this role you will need to have:

  • Experience of using a variety of database and systems
  • Experience of working in an office-based environment
  • Experience of working in customer service (not essential)
