Embedding a coaching culture through leadership
This morning we held our latest Bond Williams HR & Leadership Professionals Seminar, hosted at AFC Bournemouth, Vitality Stadium. The Colour Works’ own James Hampton brought us an interactive morning of learning. A two-hour masterclass centred on how coaching in the workplace breeds productivity.
There’s no real argument about the power of using a coaching management style to transform the performance of your people and, if you’ve ever been coached, you’ll be fully aware of its transformative effect. A coaching style allows people to investigate, think for themselves, find their answers, express themselves, experiment, learn, grow and fulfil themselves. Unsurprisingly, people who have been invested in in this way develop a greater confidence and sense of self-worth, increase their knowledge more quickly and sustainably, and become happier and more productive. Multiply that throughout your organisation and you’ve evidently got something very powerful.
So why isn’t everyone leading in this way? Well, there are 2 major contradictions with the concept of leaders coaching – authority and time.
Today’s seminar was designed to equip HR professionals, teams and leaders with the tools to develop and grow interdependently. Over the two hours we learnt exactly what coaching is, how it works and then given the opportunity to put some of the tools and techniques into practice ready to use back in the workplace.
The highly anticipated session was, as always a great success with nothing but glowing feedback from the Bond Williams team and the HR & leadership professionals who attended. Claire Bond, Director at Bond Williams said:
“James gives such an engaging presentation and everyone was really motivated to start using some of tools we learnt today within their own teams. The tangible benefits that you can document and take away from events such as these are so valuable in creating positive changes in the work place and allows you to take steps to improve yourself and how you work with others in a team. We would like to thanks James for a great session this morning, and we look forward to the next.”
Today’s event was one of Bond Williams’ quarterly 2 hour HR Seminars and workshops held at AFC Bournemouth exclusively for HR professionals. Our specialist guest speakers who join us for the sessions and the engaging and interactive environment regularly attracts a number of HR professionals, making this a fantastic opportunity to network with peers.
