Consultation aims to investigate opinions of possible migrant cap
Latest figures show around 300,000 national insurance numbers were given out to skilled overseas nationals from outside the EU, in the year up to September 2009.
A consultation aiming to investigate the attitudes toward a possible cap on non-EU economic migration to the UK has been launched by the government. The consultation plans to gather opinions from a wide range of sectors regarding the suitability of such a cap, the mechanisms of implementing it, and the effect it is likely to have on performance within organisations.
The CIPD is interested to hear any experience or knowledge you may have in this area, and aim to represent your views in our consultation response. The consultation seeks contributions from all sizes of organisations across all sectors.
We aim to represent your opinions of such matters in our consultation response survey, which you can complete here:
The consultation ends on August 6th 2010, so we will pass on your responses to the CIPD to help in the consultation process.
